About
West Manatee Fire & Rescue is an Independent Special Fire Control District located on the West Side of Manatee County, Florida. The district is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico on the west, Tampa Bay on the north, Town of Longboat Key on the south and the City of Bradenton on the East. The District includes the three cities of Anna Maria Island: City of Anna Maria, City of Bradenton Beach and the City of Holmes Beach. The district also serves the unincorporated area of Cortez, Palma Sola and Northwest Bradenton. Our District is approximately 18 square miles with a population of 27,733. We also have over 2.4 million visitors to our public beaches each year.
Our District has 3 fire stations, employs 50 career members that protect an area valued at $5.2 billion on 20,529 parcels. The operating budget for fiscal year 2023/2024 is $11,727,453.14 and a capital/reserve budget of $5,431,775.
